Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Natural Beauty Products Part III

November 24th 2006 17:49
Some salons use a variety of all natural ingredients for their clients… but it can be very expensive. In this post you can use the recipes provided here for your own facials and beauty purposes.

Facial Mask• One tablespoon honey
• 2 teaspoons arrow root thickener
• 1 cup herbs choose any five from the following (lemon grass, lavender, elder flower, chamomile, sage, bergamot, peppermint, calendula, anise, catnip, parsley and thyme.) Combine honey and thickener in a sauce pan and stir in herbs over medium heat. Stir consistently until thick. Cool to room temperature and add, after eight hours, one tablespoon of (herb) oil.
Smooth this product on your face and neck avoiding your lips and your eyes. Keep concoction on 10-15 minutes and rinse with warm water, pat to dry.

Herbal Lotion
With all of the impurities in the air among other hindering elements it is important to have a well maintained and hydrated face. Taking care of your skin with moisturizers can definitely reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
• 2 teaspoons fresh herbs use any or all of the following ( chamomile, rose, bergamot, chamomile, lemon balm, elder flower, and red clover)
• ¾ cup boiling water
Let simmer for 30 minutes strain out all herbs and place in a container of your choice. Apply with cotton ball or disposable facial pads, repeat as needed.
For thicker lotion follow above recipe except reduce boiling water to ½ (strain)
• add one to two tablespoons of lanolin

Manda,

Glad to find you're still with us, this new system makes it harder to find where people are at.

Just the names alone makes everything sound attractive.

Hope I didn't interrupt your morning facial.

This is wonderful! Do you know of natural meds for specific skin conditions? Like for example dermatitis?
