March 20th 2007 23:25
I have done some more research and decided to put together a small collection of posts dedicated to Chinese herbs along with their American names and what they do to help the body. Enjoy!
Ba Ji Tian (Morinda root)
This herb tonifies Kidney yang and is most commonly used for back pain, infertility, urinary incontinence and impotence.
Bai Bu (Stemona root)
This is most commonly used for chronic cough (it moistens the lungs) and even kills parasites like lice.
Bai Dou Kou (Cardamom seed)
It is known to help obesity, retention of fluid, fatigue, and loosen stool.
Bai He (Lily bulb)
Commonly this is used for dry cough, and sore throat but has been known to help insomnia and irritability.
