As far as health goes herbs, exercise and maintaining a healthy diet are not the only factors to consider if you want to keep a healthy body and immune system. Cleanliness is also key.
I will list a few suggestions on how you can prevent disease and promote a healthy immune system.
1) Washing your hands
It has been determined by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention says that 1/3 of E. coli outbreaks could have been prevented by simply washing of the hands.
2) Wash your sponge out
We all know where these little buggers have been and by rinsing it with a bleach-water solution you can kill bacteria and other microorganisms that can cause illness and disease. If you happen to have a dishwasher throw it there during a cycle once a day.
3) Don't thaw out frozen veggies!
It seems harmless for the moment, but if you get down to what really goes on a lot of 'breeding' of the microorganisms that cause foods to spoil multiply while the veggies are thawing.
4) Keep the top of your cans clean
Before you drink out of a can, or open a can of veggies or other product be sure to wipe the top to get rid of any organisms or bacteria so they don't infect your food.
These are just a few suggestions; however you can find libraries on how to keep clean and tips on safe cleaning practices.

great tips and a great post with good inormation...
Sometimes people don't "think" about food borne bacteria, especially if it's frozen foods...
And countertop cleaning is essential whenever you're mixing meats and veggies...
Take care,
Nick
