Crow’s Crest

This flower is a beautiful addition to any garden and most likely has another name as I can not find any info on it. I know it grows outside of the U.S. and can grow between 4 and 5 feet tall. In my country neighborhood a woman had a bunch of this velvety flowers growing in her yard and I got the name from her as I had never before seen such a flower- so of course I had to ask for a blossom and it ended up having thousands of seeds within it. So, needless to say I got my very own garden of this beautiful blooming plant. You can't really tell by the picture but it is a very soft and fuzzy blossom. I do not, as of yet, know any medicinal qualities of the plant but I thought it was worth mentioning because of its seeds.
The seeds are small, black and hard but with a smooth shiny exterior. I love to make homemade facial cleansers, lotions, etc. and the seeds are a great exfoliating element. By adding these to your cleanser you can exfoliate your skin beautifully. Depending on what plants and herbs you are using in your soaps, cleansers, etc. they could be considered medicinal scrubs if you have made specific herbal remedies for skin problems (ie. Acne, eczema, etc.).
