Myrtaceae is the family name of the eucalyptus tree. They started out in Australia and are the favorite food of koalas and other Australian animals. The eucalyptus grows in the USA, too and are quite beautiful to look at.
Eucalyptus is an essential oil that has lots of properties. Since it’s still winter, many people use products that contain it to clear their sinuses. You’ll find eucalyptus oil in chest rubs and inhalers in most drug stores.
Spring is coming, and the bugs with it. Eucalyptus leaves can keep fleas out of your home and the oil keeps pets flea-free. Using fresh leaves is always good, under the mattress or on your pet’s bedding. The oil makes an effective rub and can be purchased from drug stores and pet supply businesses.
