Herbs for Anxiety
June 9th 2007 04:26
There are many people who suffer from anxiety attacks and doctors would usually prescribe medication. Everyone who reads my work knows where I stand on the subject of chemicals vs. natural elements. The prescriptions involved can be addictive and harmful to our bodies. If you are looking for an herbal remedy that will not put you to sleep such as valerian root and belladonna then here is some good news. Sage helps calm your nerves and significantly reduces anxiety.
Please remember, as always, to learn about the herbs you take prior to using them. There are some herbs that when taken in large quantities or abused can cause serious reactions. Herbs are safe when used properly.

I'd make Diet, Health & Nutrition a compulsory subject at all educational institutions.
And employ people such as yourself to teach it, regardless of whether or not you had a university degree in 'teaching'. The best teachers are those who know what they're talking about, and put it into practice themselves.
Unless we are educated about these matters in our formative years? Too many bad habits and prejudices prevent us from implementing healthy advice.
That's pretty much my stance on it.

I burn sage too, lots and lots of sage smoke around the house acts like an opiate at dinner time (any time) and it is used by native American and shammanic practices in this way too, where it is called "SMUDGING" .. isn't it also one of the ingredients burnt in churches in that little swinging thingy... or is that Frankinsence and Myrh?
Hmmm, SAGE, I grow it, burn it, cook with it and just love it.
Don't forget to hang it upside when drying it too...
Thanks for putting this post up!
Lilla ...
PS I have to agree here with David's comment. They teach so much crap in schools these days, the west is dying from obesity and bad health. In Europe, grandmother's teach this stuff to their granddaughters and mothers to their daughters... diet and nutrition is the first thing I taught my girls, because without guidance, I learnt the hard way.

some useful tips there...I've used Valerian root a few times as a sleep aide and it worked great...
Thanks for keeping us healthy!
Take care,
Nick
