Herbs that Help Digestion

We all know the importance of a good diet and consumption of foods to keep us healthy. I have done some recent research and found herbs that can in fact help with the actual digestive process. It is amazing how many we actually use in our food without knowing the real benefits of these everyday house hold spices as well as some foods.
The following help with the esophageal function:
Cinnamon
Loquat fruit
Tangerine peel (dried)
Bamboo shoots
Ginger
Digestive Energy is also quite important and here are some foods you can consume to help boost your digestive energy.
Chinese dates
Rice
Licorice
Chinese yams
Hyacinth bean
Poria mushrooms
Pearl barley
The next spices have been known to "warm" the body to help the flow of energy to the stomach be regular so digestion can occur properly.
Basil
Clove
Cardamom
Fennel
Turmeric
Green onion
Ginger
and small amounts of garlic
