Aromatherapy Soaps
October 18th 2008 23:45
Making soaps is fun to do. By mixing lye/water to glycerin and heating you can make your own. But what do you add to make them calming bath bars or energizing cleansers? Well if you want something that will make you relax simply add (at the very end of the process) lavender, aloe and vitamin e.
For an energizing scent that awakens your senses try a mint, oatmeal mixture- this gives the exfoliating value of the oatmeal and the stimulation of the mint. Now, I grow mint and I always have a medley dried for back up so get a good amount in the there just before you pour the liquid into the mold for cooling. If mint isn’t your thing, try bergamot and coriander! It too is fantastic for livening up your body!
Enjoy your finished products, I personally give them out in little gift bags with homemade candles to guests in my home throughout the holiday season.
