Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Planting a Medicinal Garden Part Two: Cilantro/Coriander

May 25th 2008 04:17

Coriander and cilantro are two separately used portions of the same plant. Coriander is the seed and cilantro is the leafy plant that grows from the seed. If you are like me then you’ll love to make things out of your herbs like lotions, facial and body soaps, astringents and more. Coriander is great in combination with bergamot. It really energizes the body when made into a lotion a rubbed into pressure points on the body.

Both the seeds and the plant have antibacterial properties and help to stop diarrhea. Cilantro is especially good to use in salsa, soups, salads and stuffing. Plus it is aromatic in the garden.

So, this little item is a mandatory one for my family.

I love cilantro!! And the fresh is so much better than the dried. Can't wait to grow my own!
