Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Miner's Lettuce

April 3rd 2007 23:01
Miner's Lettuce is part of the Purslane family. It gets its name because the 49ers who mined across the rivers in California ate it to prevent vitamin deficiency. It is usually put in salads and tastes delicious. It also has high amounts of vitamin C and iron. Miner's lettuce is most commonly found in shady areas and grows near the Pacific Ocean.
