Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Mistletoe

December 20th 2011 16:23

Have you ever been kissed under a hemiparasite? Or hung some Phoradendron flavescens in a doorway? You probably have.

Phoradendron flavescens is the proper name for Mistletoe! The variety that grows in the USA is a parasite and even delves roots into the host tree. The European variety has sticky berries (considered poisonous). Most people use mistletoe for decorating during the Christmas season, not for food.
