Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Natural Beauty Products (Part-I)

November 13th 2006 21:13
Astringents are important for healthy skin, avoiding breakouts and of course to firm your skin. Many stores and beauty salons sell astringents but most have chemicals and preservatives. For an all natural astringent you can use any of the following plants to achieve the desired results.

Simply take the botanical element and boil. Let cool and use on a cotton ball to apply to your face. If it is too strong for you then water it down a bit before applying.

• Alum Root
• Bearberry Leaves
• Bayberry Bark
• Black Oak Bark
• Buttonsnake Root
• Cranesbill Root
• Jambul Seeds
• Maiden Hair Fern
• Rattlesnake Root
• Water Avens Root
• Water Lily Root
• Witch Hazel Twigs
• St John’s Wort
• Black Birch Leaves
• German Rue

Interesting... just that it would be a challenge to get such ingredients, based on each Country's availability to have those at one place.

Jessicca,
You can get these ingredients at herb shops online... some countries may have bans on selling them but you can buy them online if they are for personal use. Try the Herb Basin- or GNC online if you want to buy them and can not find them where you live. Since they do get expensive, I would buy the seeds for the ones you anticipate on using most often and plant an herb garden.

Thanks!!!

Cool!

I will look into that when I get the time. But at this moment I am down with flu. Any natural suggestions to get out of it?

My boss actually tried his "home made" recipe with Garlic, Tumeric Powder, Olive Oil and Honey to taste.

It did work and it stopped my coughing during the night but the sting from the Garlic has caused quite a gastric for me when I tried to chew and swallow with all my might...

Jessicca-
Type into your search engine, herbs for colds and flu and there should be links to detailed info on what herbs can do for your symptoms and where to get them online, if not let me know and I will get the info for you... also try webMD -
