Nettles!
May 10th 2008 05:20
Nettles, also known as stinging nettles have been used in first aid for centuries. They help slow the bleeding of deep wounds and puncture marks. But, there is one way to determine if you indeed have the real McCoy so to speak. The reason they are called ‘stinging’ nettles is because they have tiny yet spiky fibers which release an acid to send a burning sensation where you have been pricked. But that is not all folks; it also is widely used as a blood purifier and detoxifier of the body.

I also know that warriors when they went off to battle in ancient times would rub the plant on them and allow the acidic hairs and spikey leaves to really spread that 'heated' acid into their flesh to keep warm.
