The Spanish explorers gave this plant its name due to its beauty. It really is a stunning reason. You see this flower reminded them so much of Jesus and His crucifixion. As for the medicinal properties it can be used in teas as a sedative or in pies as a touch of relaxation. I also like to use it in the bath to unwind as well.
