Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Periwinkle is a Very Useful Plant

March 15th 2010 18:09

Vinca Minor, also known as periwinkle and myrtle, was called the “violet of sorcerers” in France. In China it was used for a diuretic, cold remedy and astringent. Europeans used it as a treatment for diabetes. In South America is was considered a good treatment for colds and congestion, while it was used to stop eye irritation in the Caribbean.

These days Vinca Minor can be found decorating shady areas as a ground cover.
