Medicinal Nature - Manda Spring

Rhubarb and Burdock

November 21st 2008 14:36
There is a similarity between these two plants and sometimes it can be difficult to tell them apart. So it is time for a lesson on just how to do that. First of all a mature Rhubarb plant has a reddish color the burdock doesn’t. But, both stalks are thick and strong so this can be fooling.

Another thing to remember is that the rhubarb leaves are poisonous. You can eat the burdock leaves on a salad or cooked like you would spinach. The medicinal properties are in the root. Burdock gets rid of tumors in the body like cysts of all sorts.
