Who’s familiar with Yarrow? Anyone? Well, today we’ll discuss a little more about this herb and find out why it is one of the best herbs to plant in your garden for medicinal purposes.
Yarrow, also known as Achillea Millefolium, has been regarded, in some cultures, as a sacred plant. Yarrow has been used by almost every land since the ancient times of the orient, Rome, Egypt and many other civilizations.
By applying the leaves to deep wounds, burns, rashes, cuts etc Yarrow got a name for being the ‘heal all’ just like Aloe Vera. The warriors would carry this on them in battle to apply it as the wounds occurred.
Aside from external healing Yarrow is also a wonderful herb for internal healing as well. As a tea many cultures such as Indian, native tribes Greeks, Romans, Chinese etc. would make Yarrow to heal ulcer, all of the intestinal issues, fever, colds, flu, kidney problems, lung conditions, internal bleeding and bladder infections.
Witch doctors of several tribes knew of the ‘miracle’ that this plant had and gave it to countless people in various forms which made the ‘power’ of their ‘religion’ seem undaunted.
